Nobody needs to have cosmetic surgery, but if you are unhappy with the way you look, then it is important to talk to a surgeon who will have your best interests at heart.
Sukh Rayatt will spend time and listen to your concerns, expectations and desires and help you make this important decision. He will counsel, educate and inform you of the advantages and risks of surgery. He firmly believes that an informed patient with realistic expectations will be a happy patient.
Mr Rayatt believes it is a privilege that a patient entrusts their care to him and will always endeavour to do his best for all patients. He will not make you feel rushed or pressured into making a decision and feels that the most important patient is the one he is with and not the one in the waiting room. His philosophy is to aim for a natural, balanced and healthy look rather that an artificial, stretched and operated look.
Personal Profile
Sukh Rayatt went to school in Ealing in London, and undertook his medical training at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1993. After three years training in General surgery (FRCS 1996), he began his Plastic surgery training in London at The Royal London Hospital, St Georges Hospital and at St Andrews in Chelmsford. He completed his higher specialist Plastic surgery training in the Midlands region, rotating through hospitals in Birmingham, Coventry and Stoke. He attained his specialist accreditation in Plastic surgery (FRCS Plast) in 2005 and is on the GMC specialist register in Plastic surgery. Uniquely Mr Rayatt is also a qualified dental surgeon, having trained at Guys Hospital in London (BDS 1984). He has experience in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery and is on the Oral surgery specialist list.
He undertook a 6 month Specialist Microsurgery Fellowship at The Erasmus Medical centre in Rotterdam before being appointed as Consultant Plastic surgeon at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, where he was Lead clinician for skin cancer. He left to join as a consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham in February 2017. In his NHS practice he specialises in Skin cancer and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck and Trauma.
Mr Rayatt completed a 6 month fellowship in cosmetic surgery (2006) at the famous West London Clinic (10 Years Younger fame). Training under prominent plastic surgeons such as Dai Davies and Jan Stanek. He was featured in the Discovery Channel 'Plastic Surgery School' series, and has appeared in 'Real ER' ITV series as well as on BBC Radio Stoke and the BBC series 'Surgeons on the Edge'.
He performs all forms of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breast (augmentation, reduction, uplifts, gynaecomastia), face (reconstructive rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, fat grafting) abdomen (tummy tucks), body contouring, liposuction, fat grafting, genital surgery (labiaplasty), scar revision, as well as non surgical facial rejuvenation procedures such as Fillers and Botox®.
Mr Rayatt runs a medico-legal practice as a plastic surgery expert for personal injury claims. He works with agencies and solicitors in the Birmingham and Stafforshire area.
Academically, Mr Rayatt has written over 50 papers and book chapters on Plastic surgery topics and has been published in prestigious British, American and Scandanavian Plastic surgery journals. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS) and is actively involved in the training of junior Plastic surgeons.
In his leisure time, Mr Rayatt loves spending time with his wife and children and is a keen golfer and enjoys photography and keeping fit.
