Initial Consultation
You will be seen by Mr Rayatt himself. He will ask you how he can help you and what concerns you have about your appearance and what you would like to change. It is important to have a clear idea about your expectations. Mr Rayatt will discuss the various options available to you, the results you can expect and the possible complications. In some cases it may be sensible to see you on a second occasion before both you and Mr Rayatt decide on a procedure. As this is an important decision you may bring a friend or relative to the initial consultation if you feel this will help.
Mr Rayatt will also ask you about your previous medical history and conduct a physical examination. A chaperone will be present during your physical examination if appropriate. He may also take clinical photographs for your clinical records and to help plan surgery and to monitor results.
You may need to be seen by the anaesthetist or have an anaesthetic assessment if you are having a general anaesthetic and have medical problems.
Fees
Once you have decided on a procedure, you or your insurance company will be given an account proposal, outlining the cost of the procedure. Costs vary depending on which hospital you choose for your procedure and some hospitals operate a fixed price fee. The cost of your procedure is a combination of the surgical fee, anaesthetists fee (if appropriate), hospital fee and the cost of any implants. The cost includes post operative care and any follow up clinic visits. Surgical and anaesthetic fees are payable 10 days in advance.
Bupa and Other Insurance
Mr Rayatt is registered with most of the medical insurance companies that provide cover for medical procedures. If you wish to be seen under your insurance, you will need a referral letter from your GP. Mr Rayatt tries to practice within the limits of the major insurance companies and it is your responsibility to ensure that your policy will cover the cost of the proposed procedure. If you are unsure Mr Rayatt can contact your insurer on your behalf. Please bring all your insurance details with you and please note that some policies may carry an excess.
